Objectives

  • To develop a new age curriculum, assessment and teacher training model.
  • To design and conduct holistic learning assessment which moves away from the marks-based system, and assesses students to improve their learning.
  • After engaging with the curriculum and learning experiences, the learner will exhibit
    • Scientific temperament with openness to new ideas and feedback for learning and growth
    • Lead a purposeful and productive life by inculcating confidence, happiness, resilience and entrepreneurship mindset
    • Higher order thinking and life skills in personal, professional and social life to strive towards contentment.
    • Compassion, generosity and non-discrimination to contribute to the happiness and well-being of self, community and the ecosystem.
  • To affiliate schools and other educational institutions in NCT of Delhi and across the country.

Functions

The primary functions of the board are as follows:

  • To ensure equitable and inclusive education for all students
  • To shift from rote memorization to competency based learning mechanism and assess students on high order skills and critical thinking apart conceptual clarity
  • To develop curriculum and assessments framework and ensure its implementation in the schools affiliated to the Board
  • To offer a wide spectrum of foundational and specialised courses for developing 21st century skills
  • To facilitate assessment cycle such that it feedbacks to the further teaching learning transactions
  • To design and develop assessments based on the strengthening relevant attitude, values, skills and readiness for the next stage
  • To design and conduct assessments and issue certificates to its successful learners
  • To involve all stakeholders i.e. teachers, peers, parents and the community for the child’s development and learning
  • To organize continuous professional development of teachers and head of the schools
  • To promote quality of teaching and learning through continuous monitoring and support
  • To formulate and implement the policies, terms and condition related to affiliation of schools
  • To maintain equivalence of standards with global education system while retaining its own distinct local context
